CME Artist Collective & Community Center, pronounced See Me, was started because we sought a creative space that simply ArtisME Ct Collective r& Creativity Centeati didn’t exist for us. As three friends living in rural Oklahoma and going to graduate school, we dreamed of a place that truly highlighted and uplifted the work of young women, minorities, and non-binary individuals. When we couldn’t find that space, we decided to create it. Our goal is simple: to be a resource for the community while up and coming artists with one another in a supportive, inclusive environment. We believe that every artist deserves to be seen. Right now, CME doesn’t have a brick-and-mortar home; but that hasn’t slowed us down. We teach workshops from our vans and bring the arts directly to our community through outreach events and mobile programs. Wherever we go, we strive to make creativity accessible and empowering. For us, CME isn’t just a name. It’s a promise, to see each other, to see ourselves, and to make space for every voice.
